Futher ideas and development

I have decided to tweak my idea slightly at this point. I am going to add an aspect of more of an interior design with graphic design by designing a wall paper that could be used within the shop or concession of the make up brand. I am going to lower the amount of campaign posters that I am going to make, by only making 1 and then I shall make the logo for the brand along with a wall paper.
I am aiming to make the wallpaper a 'iconic' part of what will make the brand. It will include the logo and I shall also include some cosmetic items - which will also be used on the campaign poster.

So here I am going to document ideas and bits of research for interiors and interiors of cosmetic shops and concessions.

MAC

Looking here at the image of the interior of a MAC shop, you can see here that it is all quite dark and simplistic. The bursts of colour that appear from all the poster around the store is what attract people, also the lighting plays a massive part in the interiors of this shop. In MAC shops that I have been into myself, it has looked very similar but I felt at ease in there, because it felt stylish and up market.

Benefit

From looking at the interior of the make up brand benefit shop, I really like the pink, girly and feminine feel it has to it. It would make women and younger girls feel at ease I feel. I like the floral walls that are in here, I think it gives a feel of 'girls only' like you would have on bedroom doors when your a young girl, trying out make up from mummy's box for the first time. By looking at this, it brings you to a world where women will all unite and link and talk together about the main thing on their mind at that present moment.. and that is make up and the amazing process of beautifying themselves.

Looking at the two shops together there are main very obvious differences, but they the end product is the same. They have very different ways of portraying make up through the interiors. Mac has a more grown up feel, sophisticated, high class and sleek. I am not saying that Benefit does not have this effect, but it has a more 'homely' feel to its surroundings.

I need to work out what type of market I would like to aim towards. I am going to do some drawings and designing and see where it takes me with imagination with drawings. I am going to make a list of names that I could use for the branding, I want to use something that has a meaning and links to make up.

----------------------------------------------

I am made a list of names that I quickly made that could be possible names for my brand:

I tried to go for words which could all mean beauty, or a word that could be the process of beautifying.

I have decided to experiment with the word RITUAL.

I have looked up a meaning for this and I think that it could work for the brand.

'A religious or solemn ceremony consisting of a series of actions performed according to a prescribed order.'

Meaning doing make up is a daily ritual.

I am also thinking of having 'made up' quotes that could be included, such as

'concealer, bronzer, mascara is my daily ritual'

'foundation, eye liner, blusher and mascara is mine!'

I was thinking of including these in the campaign and wallpaper. I think it could add a lovely personal touch to it. Everyone has their own little things they do when applying make up, we all have personal favourites and favourite ways of doing our make up.
If I was to go ahead and include this type of thing in my work, I would like it done in a hand writing, and so I think it would be a great idea to ask around friends and family to write what it is they do in the mornings, in hand written fonts, their own handwriting, this way I think it would really add a little some thing extra and personal to the branding!

Here I have just had a little play around with the word ritual on some make up containers.

The first image along with the pots of make up are a few words that I experimented with. I want to have the hand drawn look to the font too so I think that i would like to drawn the font too.

I am going to develop the logo next, I am going to have a definite name firstly and I will go from there. I need to choose a name which can easily portray make up and beauty.
